A man named Odukoya Adeola, is facing a three count charge in a Badagry high court, for allegedly beating a paramilitary personnel with horse whip and obstructing a team of traffic officers attached to Iba Police Station.
According to the Police prosecutor, ASP Clement Okuomose, the defendant inflicted injuries on the personnel by name, Ibeh Ebere on March 1, at about 9.00a.m at Iyana School Bus Stop, Iba area of Lagos State.
ASP Okuomose also disclosed that the defendant obstructed the traffic officers when he used his Toyota Matrix car with registration number LSD 292 FT to block the incoming traffic and men who were engaged in their lawful duty.
He went further to accuse the defendant of assaulting a woman Inspector, Sayo Elumike, attached to Iba Police Station while on her lawful duty and another Ebuka Chobuzor by using his car to climb over her legs.
He assaulted another Ebuka Chobuzor by also using his car tyre to climb over his legs, causing him bodily harm.
“This offences contravene Sections 173, 350 and 251 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015”, Mr. Clement said.
When asked if he was guilty of the charges brought before him, the defendant replied not guilty.
Meanwhile, the Chief Magistrate presiding over the matter, Mr. Lazarus Hotepo admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000 with 2 sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case until March 30, 2021, for further hearing.
