The wife of Akwa Ibom State governor, Marthar Emmanuel has on Saturday, January 1, 2022, donated a cash gift and items to the New Year baby delivered at the General hospital, Etinan Local Government Area of the state.
Marthar who is also the founder of Family Empowerment and Youth Reorientation Path-Initiative (FEYReP) visited the hospital early hours of Saturday explained that the birth of the child heralds a good tiding.
The baby boy delivered at 12.01AM to the family of Godwin Evans from Afaha Nsit in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area, weighed 3.3kg on delivery.

While praying for the baby, the governor’s wife encouraged the parents to train him in the way of the Lord by infusing sound Christian ethos so when he grows up, he will not depart from it.
The First Lady also interacted with other nursing mothers in the maternity ward where she gave out special baby packs and cash to their babies. She welcomed their babies to the world and wished them a happy new year.
As a compassionate mother of the state, she showed special love and interest to some nursing mothers in the maternity ward by offsetting their medical bills.
In her appreciation, the elated mother of the New Year baby, Esther Godwin on behalf of other nursing mothers, thanked the governor’s wife for her benevolence and prayed God to bless her and her husband.
Similarly, the Medical Superintendent of the hospital, David Udom in his remarks, commended the governor’s wife for the New Year visit and donations to the nursing mothers and asked God to reward her bountifully.
Other nursing mothers who benefitted from Her Excellency’s largesse, also registered their thanksgiving to the governor’s wife for her timely and substantial visit this first day of the year.
