The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Abia State, has called on its members to join hands in building the Abia they have dreamed for.

The party in a press release signed by the State Vice Chairman and Acting Publicity Secretary, Elder Amah Abraham, reiterated the party’s position for victory, ahead of the forth coming elections.

The release further stated that the party is in a win-win situation because the victory of all the candidates is the victory for the whole Party.

It added that in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act, the PDP has concluded all the processes for the emergence of its candidates for the 2023 general elections.

According to the release, the party has issued Certificates of Return and INEC Nomination Forms to all its candidates in Abia State, congratulating the candidates and other party faithful who in several ways contributed to the success of the exercise.

It revealed that at the presentation of certificates ceremony, the indefatigable State Chairman of the Party, Rt. Hon Alwell Asiforo Okere, re-emphasised the need to continue with the ongoing reconciliation process to unite all members of the party into the “One Big Happy Family” it has always been.

The release further noted that the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Prof Uchenna Ikonne, has displayed an exemplary leadership, by calling on all members to unite and work towards the success of the party at all levels in 2023, describing the PDP College of Candidates as a team, with himself as the Captain and the state party chairman as the Coach, while the party remains the Management.

“The Party wishes to re-emphasize that the task ahead is enormous, being that PDP is the only party that can wrestle power from the ruling party at the centre. We are more than ever, determined to take over power so that we can restore sanity to Nigeria by reviving the economy and especially checkmate the hyper-inflation that has reduced the purchasing power of Nigerians and stop forthwith, the senseless killing of Nigerians and the wanton destruction of property.

“The challenge to return Nigeria to normalcy can only be met through our collective efforts and shared responsibilities. We have done it before and we can do it again. Everyone must play his part. We must activate the team spirit that is the hallmark and strength of our great Party.

“As we prepare ourselves for the great battle of 2023, we must once again, remind ourselves that the only way we can win is by uniting in purpose, aspiration and action”, the release stated.
