Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), has continued to receive knock for saying Muslim-Muslim ticket has nothing to do with performance, saying the faith of the Vice President doesn’t affect performance in any government.
Governor Akeredolu, had on Wednesday expressed confidence that the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will rescue the nation, noting the work stops on the President’s table.
The Governor spoke at the swearing-in of two new commissioners, held in Akure, the State capital.
He said: “Muslim-Muslim Ticket has nothing to do with performance. Let’s vote for someone that can do something. The work stops on the table of the President. It is the President that you are voting for. He decides what happens. Whether it’s a Muslim-Muslim or Christian-Christian, it should not matter to us in the South because we fought for this.
“I have no doubt that given the opportunity, from what he has done in Lagos, Asiwaju Tinubu will turn things around for better”, he said.
But not satisfied with the governor’s statement, many Nigerians took to their social media handles to express their displeasure.
Victor Oluwayomi said: “That’s bad sir. He should have picked you from same region then since you are also competent! Mtcheew.”
Victory Ugwumsunachi said, “Your Excellency, I disagree with you on this Sir. I can understand you as a the Progressive Governors Chairman you Must be seen as a good party Man and leader. Nigerians will Vote base on Competence and Capacity as you have advised Us.”
Accordingly to Ndu Benard, “Gov Akeredolu has never said anything wrong. It’s now left for Nigerians to decide who is competent among the aspirants.”
Akogun Ibrahim noted that, “Because is Tinubu that involved you can’t say the truth, all politicians are the same. If is to be Buhari now, we know how your reaction will be.”
Muyiwa Ayodeji stressed that, “Nigeria is a secular nation. It is an insult on equity and fairness. Let’s us condemn what your party has done. Christians will use their PVC to register displeasure especially in the South West Nigeria.”
