2023: Politics is Not A Money Making Venture – PDP Aspirant

The Umuahia East State Constituency Aspirant, Gbaruko Christopher Ikechukwu, has disclosed that when he is elected, he will change the mindset of his people, who think politics is all about money making.

Interacting with Newsmen in Umuahia recently, the Umuahia East State Constituency aspirant for the 2023 House of Assembly Election, that Politics is far away from money making but on what politicians can do to alleviate the suffering of the people and also make meaningful development.

Ikechukwu noted that people have bias notion about politics and are misinformed about leadership, adding that he would thrive to change that mindset when he comes on board as a Lawmaker.

“People no longer see politics as an opportunity to serve, but a means of making money.

“Politics is not about money making but about what and what you can do for your people. The orientation of people needs to change on this regard”, he stated.

Gbaruko Ikechukwu further stated that he would be giving his best to his constituency when elected. According to him, he has lined up programs and projects for his people, ranging from Sports Competition, the construction of a Skill Acquisition centre, where those that have interest to learn a skill or the other can come and learn.

He said there would be cluster of tailors, Shoe makers, hair designers and others in the centre, making it easy for those that want to learn one skill or the other.

While commending the just concluded Abia PDP tour, Ikechukwu, described the familiarization tour as a landmark event, capable of bringing the party closer to the people and help in galvanizing more support for the party in any council area visited, particularly as 2023 draws near.

He also, commended the leadership of the party, under the Rt.Hon Alwell Asiforo, for his tireless efforts in sustaining peace in the party.

Meanwhile, the seasoned diplomat and a frontline aspirant for Umuahia East State Constituency, Mr Ikechukwu Gbaruko, would on Friday, be picking the PDP Expression of Interest /Nomination form, for the State House of Assembly seat.

The PDP chieftain had on many occasions adopted by groups and individuals in Umuahia East state constituency, as the man who has the capacity, vision and objectives required to engender prosperity in the constituency.

On Friday this week, the PDP would be playing host to the cream of personalities, party faithful/supporters, as the illustrious son of Ndume ibeku, picks his form.

Gbaruko who is a loyal party man and a grassroot politician, is God-fearing and has a good character and conduct, whose ascending to the stool of Umuahia East State Constituency come 2023, would bring a positive turnaround in the lives of the people.
