Mallam Nasir Ahmed Rufai, Governor of Kaduna State, has made proper clarifications regarding the wide spread rumour of his ambition to run alongside former president, Goodluck Jonathan for presidency come 2023.
Reacting to the speculations, Gov. El-rufai termed it as “fake news”
While speaking at the presidential lodge of the Adamawa Government House, Yola, when he paid stop by courtesy visit to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, while on his way to pay a condolence visit to his age long friend, Musa Halilu Yola on the demise of his mother. Daily trust reports.
The Kaduna State governor urged Nigerians to desist from believing every publication they read online, saying some of these online news articles could be false.
According to him:
It is fake news. Cross-check, and cross-check and Crosscheck Most of the time people sit and create fiction.
He decried the deadly nature of the Corona Virus saying he is also in the state to pay his tribute to some people whose lives have been snatched by Covid-19, some of these people were, Adamu Modibbo, Alhaji Gambo Jimeta, and of recent Mother to one of his close friends, Musa Halilu Yola.
While speaking, El-rufai expressed satisfaction over the speedy infrastructural transformation the state has undergone in such a short time.
It will be recalled that a few days ago, there was a publication from Sahara reporters exposing an alleged plan to field former president Goodluck Jonathan and Gov. El-rufai as president and running mate respectively.
However, this is coming after some rumours spread across social media indicated that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC may be nursing a Goodluck-El-rufai presidential pair for the 2023 general elections.
Although both the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress have debunked such speculations, amidst the rapid defections we can only watch and see how the political sleeves of both parties unfold.
