The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State has dragged National Assembly candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) before a Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, seeking for the nullification of the party primaries.

Court

In a suit process obtained by our correspondent, the PDP are claiming that the APC in the state conducted their delegate congress and primaries on the 18th and 19th of May, 2022 respectively which was contrary to INEC’s electoral guideline.

The suit before Justice Stephen Daylop-Pam of the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt, was adjourned to Friday, 15th July, 2022.

Reacting to the development in an interview with our correspondent, the Assistant Publicity Secretary of APC, Darlington Nwauju expressed confidence that the suit is dead on arrival, noting that the process was filled out of time.

He further assured that the party in the state have confident in the court and the judge handling the case.

Recall that the State Chief Executive, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike had said the Peoples Democratic Party is focused and ready to rescue Nigeria from the doldrums caused by the misrule of the APC led Federal Government.

“We are ready as a party to rescue Nigeria from this current terrible Government that has brought so much hardship, bloodshed bad economy, and divisiveness to the country, the time is now and our party will do it”, Wike said.
