The All Progressives Congress, APC, says it has agreed on a zoning arrangement that will swap offices held between the South and the North regions of the country in the last eight years.
This development is coming on the heels of the meeting held today at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Lodge, Abuja, between President Muhammadu Buhari and governors elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, under the aegis of APC Progressive Governors Forum, PGF.
Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State, while addressing State House Correspondents on the outcome of the meeting, disclosed that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has reached an agreement on its zoning formula.
He described the new arrangement as a “very simple, equitable and fair formula” and explained that by the arrangement, all offices that were occupied by northerners in the last eight years will now go to the South and vice versa.

He further disclosed that following the postponement of the party’s National Convention, all the stakeholders of the party are expected to go back and consult at the zonal levels and to look at the positions that are available and the process of the convention preparation, which will now commence in earnest.
He expressed the belief that the party would conclude its national convention on the 26th of March, 2022 by the grace of God.
Those present at the meeting include the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha and the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari.
Others include the Governors of Lagos State; Ebonyi State; Ekiti State; Gombe State; Kebbi State; Borno State; Kaduna State; Ogun State; Niger State; Plateau State; Ondo State; Kano State; Yobe State; Cross River State; Nasarrawa State; Kwara State; Kogi State and Imo State respectively.
The outgoing deputy governor of Anambra State, Nkem Okeke, who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC, was also in attendance.
