5 Virtual Dollar Card Alternatives You Can Use

This has put many Nigerians on the edge who rely on this channel for dollar transactions. It is difficult to use your regular bank debit card for international online transactions such as paying for Facebook ads, purchasing on Amazon, Google, Spotify, or even subscribing to Netflix.

Furthermore, with Nigerian banks’ $20 daily limit on international transactions, doing business internationally becomes nearly impossible. Surprisingly, the introduction of virtual cards has provided many Nigerians with a solution to this problem.

A virtual card has all of the features of a regular credit or debit card but is not physical. It is an online account, similar to a bank account.

Some virtual cards also provide cashback deals, allowing you to earn rewards on everyday purchases such as groceries or utilities.

Here are 5 other alternatives You can Use:

ALAT

ALAT is a digital-only brand operated by Wema Bank, a Nigerian commercial bank. It provides a full banking package, including a bank account, physical debit card, savings, and loans, and it is one of Nigeria’s best virtual dollar cards. Once your account is set up and funded, you can load your card for up to $20,000 directly from your naira balance and convert the dollars back into naira if necessary. However, it is not compatible with 3D Secure and cannot be used on money transfer websites.

CHIPPER CARD

Chipper cash card is a pre-funded and reloadable virtual visa card that can be used to pay for anything online. The card works online in the same way that your local bank card does. The card is valid for online purchases anywhere Visa is accepted.

Chipper Cash wallets/accounts are divided into two categories: tier 1 and tier 2. Tier 1 wallet has many limitations, but Tier 2 wallet gives you access to more app features. Chipper Cash claims to offer 5% cash back on all purchases.

Minty Bank

The Minty Bank Virtual Dollar Card offers numerous advantages to freelancers, entrepreneurs, merchants, and sole proprietors who conduct business both domestically and internationally. Customers can use Mintyn’s Virtual Dollar Card, a non-physical dollar-denominated card, to pay for international services such as Amazon, Apple Music, Netflix, eBay, WordPress, and many others.

To take advantage of the many benefits that Mintyn’s Virtual Dollar Card provides, customers simply log in to their account on the Mintyn app and activate a personal Virtual Dollar Card, which takes less than a minute.
