Big Brother Naija Shine Ya Eye housemates Cross has spoken up about his childhood experiences and the struggles of being raised by his mum single handedly.
He revealed this during his diary session when Biggie asked him how prepared he is for the weekend task; which is a debate about married couples running a joint account.
Cross stated that the task was personal to him as he had experienced the adverse effect of couple not having a joint account when he lost his dad who was wealthy but left his mum with nothing to cater for him and his 5 siblings.
He also revealed his mother was duped by his father’s lawyer because she was not educated.
While recounting the experience he had with his parents, he said: “Growing up, my dad was the bread winner and he is a traditional man, sadly he wasn’t educated like I am now and when he was assassinated it was tough bcos my mom had nothing doing, she was dependent on my dad. Anything that needed funding, he was in charge
“Unfortunately he had 6 kids and i was 14. It was tough but we couldn’t understand what was happening then, he was wealthy and when he was gone, it was hard. If he had a joint account, my mom wouldn’t have been through all that.
“Everyone turned against us even his lawyers. My mom is my hero, she stopped at primary 6, lawyers ran away with all documents, my dad’s family turned against her, her family turned against her.”
