Governor of Imo state, Hope Uzodinma, has on Friday returned to Owerri from Abuja in the midst of tight security and tension.
The governor returned home six days after his country home Omuma in the Oru East Local Government Area of the Imo state was razed by gunmen.
Uzodinma’s return came amidst speculations that himself and other top government officials had ran away from the state as a result of the rising security threats in the state.
Not more than ten persons have been killed In the last six days which includes shooting the state commissioner for Entrepreneurship and Skill Acquisition and other armed Robbery cases.
It was gathered that security vehicles to pilot the take-off of Ebube Agu security outfit have been lined up at the Imo state government house.
When the governor’s spokesperson, Oguwike Nwachuku was contacted, he said that it was the responsibility of the government to ensure peace and security in the state and that is exactly what the governor is doing.
The governor is working very hard to maintain peace and ensure the protection of lives and properties in the state he concluded.
