The Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Hon. Barr George Ariolu, Esq, has said that his administration is anchored on Service to God and Humanity.
The Council Boss stated this when Christian Association of Nigeria ( CAN), Local Government Branches led by Rev. Peter Georgewill paid him a courtesy visit.
Barr. George Ariolu said his administration has begun the renovation and remodeling of council secretariat to meet modern standards and improve service delivery.
He further revealed that the council have rolled out vocational training in forklift, scaffolding and crane operations.
He pledged to sustain development stride as a way of making the residents enjoy the dividends of democracy.
According to Ariolu, the indices for measuring development in the near future will no longer be essentially about physical infrastructure but the quality of human capital development.
The Charman said he had been deeply worried by the rots he met on resumption of office and therefore had been working tirelessly to change the narrative by making Obio/Akpor the best among its peers.
“On human capital development, we are going to provide grants to our people undergoing Ph.D and Masters Degree programs.
“We also ventured into the area of Maritime Technology by partnering with Charkin Maritime Academy.
“We have rolled out vocational training in Forklift, Scaffolding and Crane Operations”, Ariolu said.
Earlier, the Chairman of Rivers State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Local Government Branches (Coalition) Rev. Dr. Peter Georgewill on behalf of the association congratulated Barr George Ariolu on his landslide electoral victory and subsequent inauguration as the chairman of the local government council.
“We are very grateful for this warn reception, and we commend you for your vision in transforming the entire LGA.”
He maintained that they were at the council Secretariat to seek collaboration with the council chairman because there is no separation between God and public square.
