The Action African Congress has disconnected itself from former presidential candidate and foremost Nigerian activist, Omoyele Sowore, saying Sowore has long been expelled by the leadership of the party.
The Party through its National Chairman, Dr. Leonard Nzenwa has said the utterances and actions of the former leader of the party and convener of the revolution now campaign has now posed as a threat to the security of the nation, and such should be investigated by the proper authorities.
While speaking to newsmen, the National Chairman of AAC, Dr. Leonard Nzenwa refuted the letter sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC by Sowore, saying the former presidential candidate has now posed as an impersonator of the leader of the party.
Nzenwa, who also doubles as the National Chairman of Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC has revealed that both a court judgment delivered July, 12, 2019 and a selection process done in the Party’s last National Convention validated Sowore’s expulsion from the party.
According to him: “Our attention has been drawn to ongoing mobilization to hide under the name of our great party to wreak havoc on and burn down INEC offices nationwide, attack other public infrastructure and cause mayhem across the nation.
“Only last week, the Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC that I lead bemoaned the state of insecurity in the country wherein we called on Mr. President to declare a State of Emergency on National Security even as we condemned in strong terms actions of some state and non-state actors in fanning embers of disunity through their speeches and actions.”
It will be recalled that the Human rights activist who was arrested and charged with treason and other offenses, appeared in court with a herbalist in his full regalia, a scene that broke the internet.
