The 2021/2022 Nigeria National League (NNL) week 16 match number 112 of the Southern Conference Group B2 between Ijebu United F. C. and Abia Comets F.C. would have turned into an evening of mourning but for the quick intervention of Abia Comets F. C. nurse, Gold Ihueze.
The match played at the Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode on Saturday 28th May 2022 started around 4.11 pm.
After about 27 minutes of play, an Ijebu United F. C. player Toheeb Isoko slumped on the field.
The central referee Adeniyi Olarotimi from the Delta State referees Council halted the game and signalled for medics.
Immediately the team nurse of Abia Comets F.C. Gold Ihueze rushed to the player and ordered everybody out to allow the twitching player a breathing space as the driver of the Ogun state Emergency Ambulance provided for the match was not handy.

On noticing that the player had passed out, she took charge of the situation working very fast and carefully. After about twenty minutes of first aid attention, she revived the player just before the Ambulance driver returned.
With the assistance of some players, she led the player to the Ambulance that had been driven close by and lay him on the stretcher. As the player continued to make requests for water to drink, she added an infusion.
After reviving the player fully, the nurse advised Ijebu United Officials and the Ogun state Football Association Secretary to take the player to the hospital for proper management.
Both the Ijebu United F. C. officials, match officials players and spectators alike gave a standing ovation to Nurse Gold for her medical gallantry and spirit of sportsmanship.
