In a Press release signed by Prince Udensi on behalf of the campaign organization stated that the PDP primary election for Abia North senatorial district was inconclusive and still remains inconclusive.

According to the release, the attention of the Hon Uko Nkole Senatorial Campaign Organization was drawn to the blatant and malicious publications and dissemination in some media quarters purveying that Senator Mao Ohuabunwa won the Abia North PDP primary election held at the Ohafia Local Govermment Area.

The campaign organization clearly stated that the information was misleading, fallacious and baseless, adding that the senatorial primary election was marred with violence, hijack of ballot materials occasioned by Mao Ohuabunwa and no return was made at Ohafia the Senatorial headquarters of Abia North.

The release also stated that the Panel members as constituted for the primary election is in violation of Section 84(12) of the 2010 Electoral Act as amended particularly the inclusion of Mr Gabriel Ndom, a serving commissioner in Abia State and his conduct during the primary election is at variance with the Party guidelines issued by the PDP headquarters for the conduct of the said primary election.

“It should be noted here that it was only Umunneochi LGA delegates that voted while the rest of the delegates from the rest four local government areas, Ohafia, Arochukwu, Isuikwuato and Bende were yet to vote before the disruption of the Exercise by one of the aspirants, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa.

“We will continue to support the democratic process and the rule of law.

“That Uko Nkole and his team will continue to be law abiding and follow all democratic principles and guidelines as stipulated by PDP constitution and Electoral Act of 2010 as amended for the conduct of party primaries.

“Abia North cannot be manipulated”, the Release further read.
