Fancy Acholonu, an American model and the former fiancée of the Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo, has described a terrible accident that nearly took her life.
The American businesswoman disclosed that a few months prior, she had been in an accident. She acknowledged that she doesn’t frequently share her struggles because she feels uncomfortable being open and vulnerable, but she added that she was working at her own pace to get over that.
Fancy admitted that she had a difficult year. She acknowledged that everyone experiences hardships, but said that sharing can sometimes help someone else realize that nobody’s life is perfect and that instead, we should be grateful for what we have and savour each moment.

Fancy Acholonu disclosed that a few months ago, she was involved in a car accident as she was returning from work. She stated that the experience caused her to consider how fleeting life is.
She wrote: “I was in a bad car accident a few months ago and as my birthday is approaching I’ve been doing a lot of self-reflection on my life. I was driving home from work on the freeway and someone crashed into me. When I gained consciousness in the ambulance I thought to myself wow, is this how I would leave this earth? Just like that?
At that moment I realized that life is short, precious, and beyond unpredictable. It can be taken away from you in an instant. I’m not someone who publicly shares my struggles often I get nervous about being open and vulnerable, but I am working on that at my own pace. I’ve had a pretty traumatic year and I know we all go through things but sometimes sharing can help someone else realize nobody’s life is perfect so we should be grateful for what we have and embrace every moment”.
