An angry mob has reportedly razed a police station at Isinweke Local Government Area of Imo state following the murder of two siblings in the community, by policemen.
The victims, identified as Chinanu & Chinyere Okonkwo, were allegedly murdered by a yet to be identified police officer.

Reacting to the development, @imosocials tweeted:
“Angry youths of Ihitte/Uboma just burnt down a Police Station in Isinweke L.G.A following the killing of two siblings, Chinanu and Chinyere Okonkwo by a trigger happy yet-to-be identified policeman. They also dumped the bodies of the victims at the station.”
Meanwhile, the Imo State Police spokesman, Orlando Ikeokwu, confirmed the incident to The Guardian, adding that the police have sent an intervention team to the area to restore normalcy.
Ikeokwu shunned further questioning as he said he would be “sending out a press statement soon”.
It will be recalled that police brutality has been a major issue in Nigeria which led to the historic #EndSARS protest that rocked major cities across Nigeria in 2020.
After the protests, the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigerian Police Force was unbundled, with most state governors setting up judicial panels of inquiry to hear complaints from affected persons and seek redress for them.
