Following the speculative rift between the two foot soldiers of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Minister of transportation, Rotimi Ameachi and former senator in the state, Magnus Abe, the APC wing of the Ahoada Local Government Area has given an ultimatum to the APC juggernauts to settle their differences.
The party urged both leaders to bury their hatchets and focus on the growth and strength of the party, the LGA faction of the party also urged former governor, Rotimi Ameachi to allow the affairs of the party run of a fair heel of what they termed as “internal democracy”
After an extensive meeting held in the state by the party in the Local Government Area, leader of the party in the LGA Ibiso Nwuche disclosed that the members at the LGA level resolved that both leaders must bury their hatchets and move on in an open window of three months.
Nwuche took a jab on the leaders of the APC in Rivers State, saying they have not been able to salvage the internal issues in the party in recent times.
Having not had any benefit from the party due to failed leadership from the state and the grassroots levels in Ahoada East, we resolved and gave them (Amaechi and Abe), till July this year to reconcile themselves at the top and move the party forward before we take next action.
He also dispelled the proposition by the Minister of transportation to endorse a particular area of the state to produce the next governor of the state come 2023, adding that Ameachi would not be imposing his personal decision or opinion against the general consensus of the state.
