The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Imo East Zone, Barr Chyma Anthony has urged Igbo to reject any offer of a vice presidential slot from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC), ahead of the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

Anthony said that the Igbo deserve nothing short of the presidential slot, hence should not accept anything less from the major political parties.
He frowned at those who are advising the Igbos to go for VP slot, insisting that what the Igbos want is nothing but president of this country.
While saying that the person telling the Igbos to go for VP slot don’t have the interest of the Igbos at heart, he also hinted that the Igbos are too big to be ‘spare tyre’.
Speaking with newsmen in Owerri at the weekend, the UK-trained lawyer and Good Governance advocate said, “This is the time for the South East to produce the president of this country, for sake of fairness and equity. Any party that refuses to zone presidency to South East, has rejected the Igbos. Therefore, Igbos should dump such a party and work for the party that is protecting their interest.

Anthony, who is popularly known as Odiuko added; “It is disheartening to see the disregard with which the two major political parties are treating the rightful zoning slot of the Igbos.
“The PDP, on its part, has presented the worse scenario by giving ticket to somebody from the North-East, disregarding the commitment of the Igbos to the party since 1999.
“A look at the voting pattern since 1999 will show you that the South East has been committed to the PDP. Unfortunately, instead of zoning the presidency to the South East, the party is disregarding the people of the geo-political zone.”
Anthony urged Nigerians to vote for APGA candidates in all the elected positions, noting that they are the people that have the interest of the Igbos at heart.
He insisted that history will be made if the masses come out en masse to vote for APGA candidates from state to national level, adding that APGA has credible and qualified candidates who have experience to change the narrative.
