Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has felicitated with Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri on the occasion of his 62nd birthday.
Atiku in a message on his verified Twitter handle on Thursday, described Diri as his “brother” and prayed God to grant him many more years of good health to serve his state and nation.
“On behalf of my family, I join friends and well-wishers to celebrate my brother, the governor of Bayelsa State, Sen. Duoye Diri. May God Almighty grant you more years in good health and service to the benefit of the good people of Bayelsa State and humanity”, Atiku said.
On his part, a former President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki also wished the Bayelsa number one citizen good health and lomg life in the service of his people.
He said: “Happy Birthday to my dear friend and brother, the Governor of Bayelsa State, Sen. Douye Diri. As you celebrate another year, I wish you long life, good health, and the blessings of Almighty God”.
Meanwhile, Governor Diri has said that as he turns 62, he will be rededicating himself to the service of God and people of the state.
In a birthday message he released to reflect the day, Diri, acknowledged the hand of God in the journey of his life.
The Governor who committed himself to the development of the state called for prayers for the sustenance of peace, love and unity among the people.
“As Governor, I take this opportunity to once again rededicate myself to the service of our dear state to engender development and call on well -wishers to join me in prayers for sustenance of peace, love and unity among our people.
“Yes, the task to deliver on the assignment ahead may be enormous, but on the solid Rock of God’s promise we shall prevail”, he stated.
The Governor reminded Bayelsans that he was not used to celebrating lavish birthdays and that he would used the day to appreciate God and called for prayers for more wisdom to deliver on the mandate of prosperity to the people.
“My personal principles and values are against lavish birthday celebrations and so today, I will rather ask our heavenly father to fill me with more wisdom, compassion and direction to lead our great people, create more impact and deliver on the mandate of prosperity.
“It is with a deep sense of gratitude I appreciate God Almighty for His benevolence and the gift of life as I add another year to my age today, 4th of June, 2021.I am not unaware of the divine providence in my life and that of my entire family. Truly, His grace has sufficiently being my driving force in this journey of life”, Diri stated.
According to him, “Let me thank you all for your generous wishes and continued unalloyed support to the Prosperity Government thus far, as we progressively mould the Bayelsa State of our dreams”.
