The convener of the Lead Generation Initiative and lawmaker representing Iseyin/IItesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency in Oyo State, Shina Peller, has urged youths to use the 2023 elections to re-write their narrative by making their voices heard.
He also said the country has been plagued by bad leadership and the misgovernance that has resulted is now incorrectly reflected in every Nigerian.
Peller spoke at the ‘Get Involved Leadership Summits’ in the North East, where 500 young people were trained in the areas of leadership and governance.
He stated that the youths, as the nation’s engine room, must work hard to create the Nigeria of their dreams, away from the existing awful leadership and mis-governance, and that 2023 presents a great opportunity because the incumbent president will not be running for re-election.
He exhorted the youths to be the change they wished to see in the future president of Nigeria by being that bridge of hope for the next generation within the limitations of their own location.
He said, ”Whether the government is involved or not, the first obligation of every generation is to be a bridge of hope for the upcoming generation. You must be able to write your own story for yourself. It is up to us to change that because bad leadership did not just happen to us. Bad leadership did not start with this administration, it is something that has been happening for many decades. So you will now see that bad leadership foisted on the country over time has now become a reflection of every one of us”.

He charged the youths to work hard to break the narrative of repeated leadership failures, stating that the youths, as the country’s engine room, can unleash their potential as change agents to achieve the Nigeria of their dreams.
He concluded by saying, “It is up to us not to fail the coming generation. 2023 presents a golden opportunity for the youths to work towards achieving a Nigeria of their own dreams more so that we would not have an incumbent president in that polls. If truly, elections are won by numbers, youths this is the time to prove it”.
