Bandits kills two policemen, during a thwarted attack on a police camp in Kundu Village, Zungeru, Niger state. At least ten bandits were alleged to have died in a gun duel that lasted for hours on Saturday morning.
Several bandits were allegedly said to have fled with gunshot wounds and took the bodies of their own members away.
Over ten individuals were slain as police officers stopped an effort by the suspects to kidnap persons in the neighborhood. The police, on the other hand, lost two of their officers in the process.
While visiting the scene of the incident, Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello applauded the security agencies’ bravery and challenged the heads of security agencies to explain what they needed to do to halt instability in Niger, promising to ensure that the state is secure.
Bello expressed sympathy for the men and applauded them for their efforts.

He also revealed that the State Government had made preparations for some equipment to combat instability, which will come soon and be turned over to the state’s police force.
