Baraza Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited has announced the suspension of registration of new members in Bayelsa State alone with effect from Monday, March 22, 2021.
The CEO said, this will allow it regularize membership of those that are yet to be captured for payment, as well as, regularize its payment procedure to meet end of March deadline.
This formed part of the resolutions of the Trustees, Presidents, Managers, and Staff virtual meeting held on Sunday, March 14, 2021, chaired by the CEO, Pst. Dr. (Arc.) Miebi Bribena.
It was resolved that some members in the atate, who are yet to be captured should use the period to perfect their registration processes, in order to ensure their monthly payment.
Regretting the inconveniences the development might have caused intending members, the Management, thereby, appealed to them to exercise patience, as the decision is aimed at ensuring effective service delivery.
It added that the period would also be used to address issues relating to delayed payments as it affects some members and the upgrading of the payment facilities.
The meeting noted with dismay, the inconveniences the delayed payment had caused some of the members, hence the reason necessary measures are being put in place to forestall a repeat of the experience.
The resolutions read in part, ‘the peculiarity of February left us with almost 3-4 days backlog of payment.
However, we have cleared from March 1 to March 9 and payment is still ongoing for other dates as affected.‘
Also, members should be informed that suspension of registration of new members does not affect contribution on the part of the existing registered members”.
