Bayelsa Assembly to hold public hearing on herdsmen bill

The Bayelsa State House of Assembly Joint Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources, Trade, Industry and Investment, Environment and Security will on Monday March 1, 2021 hold a public hearing on the Livestock Breeding, Rearing and Marketing Regulation Bill 2021.

According to Rt. Hon. Tonye Isenah the Chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources, the public hearing is slated for the Main Conference Hall of the Assembly by 10am.

Isenah in a statement said expected at the hearing to participate and make inputs to the bill are the Commissioners and Permanent Secretaries in the ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Environment, Trade, Industry and Investment and Justice.

Others are the Chairman or Representative from the Bayelsa State Council of Traditional Rulers, the Director Livestock in the Ministry of Agriculture, Cattle Dealers Association, Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, The Director DSS, The State Commandant NSCDC, Chairman ALGON Bayelsa State, Special Adviser to the Governor on Security 1 and 2.

Also invited are Chairman and Secretary of IYC Central Zone, Chairman Local Government Youth Federation Forum, Representative of the Farmers Association of Nigeria, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, BANGOF, Civil Liberties Organization, ERA and Market Women Association.
