First Lady of Osun State, Mrs. Kafayat Oyetola is the new Chairperson of the Southern Governors Wives Forum (SGWF).
She was unanimously elected at the meeting of the Forum which took place inside the Edo State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja on Tuesday, June 7.
Mrs. Oyetola replaces Edo State First Lady, Mrs. Betsy Obaseki, whose tenure elapsed on Tuesday.
Also elected into the Cabinet were, the First Lady of Akwa Ibom, Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel, as Vice President; the First Lady of Bayelsa, Mrs. Gloria Diri, Secretary and the First Lady of Imo State, Mrs Chioma Uzodimma, Treasurer.
The others are; First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, Welfare Officer and First Lady of Abia State, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu, emerged as PRO.
In her acceptance speech, the Osun State First Lady thanked her colleagues for the love displayed in unanimously electing her as the Chairperson.
Mrs Oyetola pledged to build on the harmony and achievements of her predecessor, whom she described as a great leader who fostered unity among the First Ladies in the Southern States of the country.
The SGWF listed a number of women-oriented and gender-based programme s and projects to be carried out across the country.
