The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Pabara Igwele has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to reaching rural areas with quality health care.

He stated this on Monday during a Free Medical/Surgical Outreach in Aleibiri, Ekeremor local government area of the state, held as part of activities to mark the second anniversary of the Sen. Douye Diri led Prosperity Administration.
Dr. Igwele again stressed that the health of Bayelsans remains a top priority to the government and they will do all within their power to ensure the well being of Bayelsans.
The Commissioner who was represented by his Special Assistant, Dr. Appah Williams said surgeons, dentists, ophthalmologists, medical doctors, nurses and other health professionals were present to meet the various needs of the people.
He stated that there was also screening for Hypertension, Diabetes, Covid 19 testing and vaccination, as well as the distribution of drugs, mosquito nets, and reading glasses to those in need of them.
Speaking on behalf of the Member representing Ekeremor Constituency 1 in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Tare Porri, the Principal Environmental Health Officer, Mr. Doubra Ebikeseye appreciated the Governor for the Medical Outreach.
He noted that many people suffer from treatable ailments, but financial constraints have made it difficult for them to receive proper treatment.
He added that people from neighbouring communities such as Isampou, Ayamasa, Lalagbene and others were present to partake in the Outreach.
Hon. Porri said the constituency is grateful and is solidly behind the Governor, assuring him of their continuous support.
Also speaking, the CDC Chairman, Aleibiri, Mr. Felix Alare, appreciated Governor Diri for the kindness shown to the people of the constituency and prayed for God’s blessings on his administration.
