The Bayelsa State Government has called on owners of shops at the Swali Market and mini market to come forward for verification or risk revocation of shop ownership.
The Commissioner for Trade, Industry and Investment, Hon. Otokito Federal, made this known in a statement in Yenagoa on Thursday.
The statement said an evidence of payment to the market office should be presented during the verification exercise by the shop owners.
The statement also called on shop owners at the Swali Market Extension that street trading at the Swali Market Roundabout and fenced areas has henceforth been prohibited.
It therefore advised traders to take immediate possession of their stalls as their rents would take effect from Monday 1st of March 2021.
According to the statement, failure to comply with the directive will attract reallocation of their stalls.
