The Bayelsa State Government has said that the Imiringi/Otuasega Bridge would be closed to traffic from Thursday, March 4, 2021.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Dr Johnson Dagana in a statement said the closure is to enable engineers on site to reconstruct the bridge properly without any disturbances.
The statement advised motorists and other road users to make diversions through Opolo Road, Along L’amour Table Water which will link them to Imiringi Junction through which they can access Imiringi, Otuasega and Okaki.
It added that motorists from Ogbia/Nembe axis who wish to access Port Harcourt are to divert through Otuasega-Okaki Road.
The statement solicited the cooperation of Bayelsans and the general public, saying despite the temporal effect of the closure, it is in the best interest of all.
