The Bayelsa State Government will next week Monday mark the lnternational Day of Forest Commemoration Ceremony, with the theme: Forest Restoration, A Path of Recovery and Well-being.
The State Commissioner For Environment, Hon. Iselema Gbaranbiri, explained that the event is in line with the global world and desire to create awareness on the importance of Forest Restoration and the need for regeneration of trees in the state.
In a statement on Friday, the Commissioner said NGO’s, Stakeholders and the general public are invited for the programme.
He said the event is scheduled to hold at the Bayelsa State Peace Park, Yenagoa by 11am prompt, followed by a tree planting exercise.
The State Governor, Senator Douye Diri is expected to be the Special Guest of honour at the event.
