As Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri clocks 62 today, Friday, June 4, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bayelsa State Council has joined other well-meaning Bayelsans to felicitate with him.
According to a statement signed by the Council Chairman, Comrade Samuel Numonengi and the Secretary, Comrade Ogio Ipigansi on behalf of the entire journalists in the state, at 62 the governor has impacted meaningfully on the lives of the people in the state and beyond.
The statement says the union is pleased to see Governor Diri accomplish great things in life, having shown the capacity to take Bayelsa to greater heights.
Noting that the government is a media-friendly one, the union said that the numerous projects being embarked on by the present administration in the state, particularly the media house under construction as well as the support to the media are eloquent testimonies to that fact.
The union expressed the wish that Senator Diri’s reign as the governor of Bayelsa State would bring to fruition the people’s desire of a strong, united and prosperous state.
The leadership of the union prayed God to grant the governor wisdom, guidance, protection and all the good things he wished for himself.
