Yenagoa based side, Bayelsa Queens Football Club on Wednesday at the Dan Ayiam Stadium, Owerri thrashed Ibom Angels of Uyo by 4-0.
It was arguably their best performance of the season so far in the Nigerian Women Football League (NWFL) and their biggest win so far.
The girls played the home game away from their traditional Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa, due to the one match banishment by the Women League Board.
Striker, Anjor Mary tapped into an empty net after Precious Vincent layed her up in the 12th minutes before Joy Bokiri doubled the lead for her side when she put the ball nicely behind Goalkeeper of Ibom Angels Lucky Andy in the 40th minute to end the first half 2-0.
The Gloryland Girls came out even stronger in the second half and did not allow their opponent to settle down when Bayelsa Queens Goalkeeper, Onyinyechi Okeke long kick was lashed on by Anjor Mary to score her second and Bayelsa Queens third on 47th minutes.
Despite the threats of the Uyo Girls, their plans for a comeback was dashed when Super Sub Charity Rueben ended the game with her 35 yards shot that caught Goalkeeper Lucky Andy napping in the 82nd minutes.
An elated Technical Adviser of Bayelsa Queens, Moses Aduku said the girls despite the banishment played well and scored four beautiful goals and added that the target is to win the league this season.
Prince Usen, the Interim Coach of Ibom Angels expressed disappointed with the performance of his girls, particularly in the first half and also for the below par showing of Goalkeeper Lucky Andy.
He however promised to beef up the team when the new management is setup probably before the second stanza of the season.
On her part, Anjor Mary said she was happy to be back playing and helping her team to secure the victory and remaining top of the league table.
Bayelsa Queens next trip is to Oshogbo, Osun State to take on Osun Babes in their matchday 9.
