Bayelsa Queens defeated Edo Queens 3-0 to end their participation in the Nigeria Women Football League Super Six holding at the Dipo Dina International stadium in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.
Zainab Olapade’s well-executed freekick gave the Gloryland Girls the first goal advantage on the 20th minute before tournament debutant, Juliet Sunday made it two, after she tapped home a rebound.
The Gloryland Girls took advantage of the obvious fatigue of their counterparts in the second half, to further deal with them and ended the game with another beautiful goal by Juliet Sunday on the 55th minutes.
However, Bayelsa Queens’ brilliant performance against Edo Queens was not enough to see them through.
Bayelsa Queens drew 1-1 against Sunshine Stars, lost 0-2 to FC Robo Queens, and also lost 0-4 to Rivers Angels before defeating Edo Queens by three goals to nil.
Coach of Edo Queens, Stanley Obazee was disappointed, seeing his girls lose their fifth straight match of the competition and blamed the organizers for not putting the interest of the girls when theh scheduled the championship in the heat of Ijebu-Ode.
On his part, Coach of Bayelsa Queens, Moses Aduku admitted that they started badly in their first match against Sunshine Queens but assured that they will start preparations immediately for next season.
