The Bayelsa State Police Command seem to be in a working order as operatives of the command reportedly foiled an armed robbery operation at Goldcoast Estate, Yenagoa.
Nigerdelta connect gathered that the incident occurred in the early hours of Monday. Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers surged over the Gold coast estate scheming to raid and rob residents of the state. The management of the estate however contacted the state police and hinted them on the development.
The operation was thwarted as the control room patrol teams responded swiftly on receiving the information and the robbery was foiled.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Asinim Butswat confirmed the report in a press release.
According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, CP Mike Okoli fsi, appealed to members of the public to always contact the Police Control room for prompt response.
Prior to this time, the Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri has commended security agencies for the prevailing peace and security in the state, saying it is attributable to their commitment and collaborative efforts.
Diri gave the commendation during the state’s 6th Security Council meeting in Government House, Yenagoa, noting that it was the result of their hard work and cooperation with the state government that Bayelsa is adjudged one of the states with the least crime rate in the country.
