Former Nigeria league champions, Bayelsa United Football Club will tomorrow (Sunday), welcome Abia Comets Football club of Umuahia at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa as the second tier Nigeria National League (NNL) enters match day seven.
Both sides will renew their age long rivalry, as they seek for a place in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Technical Adviser of Bayelsa United, Dipreye Teibowei said despite playing at home, he expects a tough encounter but assured of victory, saying the team’s target was to win every game.
Speaking on the injury challenge in the team, he explained that captain Bernard Okorowanta and defender Charles Eugene would be out of the tie but said the other players are fit to deliver.
Goalkeeper, Issiaka Ogoubiye on his part said they would approach the game like a cup final, as they cannot afford to drop points anymore especially at home.
He said his desire as a player was to see Bayelsa United return to the NPFL as well as getting a national team call up to the Benin Republic senior or cadet team.
Meanwhile, group leaders Remo Stars will welcome Joy Cometh Fc of Lagos who are currently on twelve points while second placed Crown FC on ten points will travel to Agbor to face Apex Krane of Delta State.
Elsewhere, Bendel Insurance will slug it out with neighbours Ibom Youth in the South South derby just as One Fc Rocket entertain Gateway FC.
