Authorities of the Bayelsa State owned Niger Delta University (NDU), Wilberforce Island in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, have dismissed the January 4, 2022 rumored date for resumption.
The Registrar of the institution, Benjamin Joffa, said in a statement on Wednesday, that social media publications, insinuating the January 4 date is incorrect.
He added that January 14 and January 21, 2022 remains the official date for resumption for fresh and returning students respectively.
“The attention of the niger delta university has been drawn to a social media publication purporting a change in the university’s resumption date to january 4, 2022.
“this change of date according to the fictitious publication was the fall-out of a non-existent 57th meeting of the university senate.
“the university management hereby condemns this unwholesome act and state unequivocally that the said publication is misleading, unfounded and a calculated attempt to deceive the student population and the general public.
“we therefore, advice both fresh and returning students’ and the general public to discountenance the said social media publication and note that the resumption date of the university remains january 14, 2022 and january 21, 2022 for fresh and returning students respectively”, the statement said.
