The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has appealed to his supporters to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner during his next cappearance in court on Tuesday next week.
Ifeanyi Ejiofor, lead counsel to the IPOB leader, who disclosed this in a statement he issued after his visit to the detained IPOB leader yesterday, also expressed optimism that the outcome of the next court session will be favourable to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who he said is in high spirits to appear before Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja.
According to him, people will behold with their eyes an interesting dimension in the harmonized workable formula we have evolved because Nnamdi Kanu’s detractors will be comprehensively humbled and permanently put to shame after the next court session.
He further disclosed that the IPOB leader was in a cheerful mood and confident of victory in the long run. Our discussions with him strengthened his determination to persevere unrelentingly and he also expressed his profound gratitude and appreciation to millions of his followers and supporters scattered throughout the face of the earth.
Ejiofor said his client advises those of them that would appear in court in demonstration of their unflinching support and loyalty to him, to conduct themselves with decorum, shun violence and deviant behaviour in any manner of form, be civil in their conduct and exercise restraint in their speech.
He reiterated that his client has not committed any offence known to law and for this reason must be released unconditionally.
He also disclosed that his team has written to sovereign democratic governments and other international institutions to prevail on the Nigerian government to caution overzealous and uncouth security agents. He announced that those correspondences are receiving the requisite attention they deserve.
He charged their supporters to keep the peace at all times and to comport themselves with decorum adding that on account must their untiring spirit be shaken or their resolve diluted. He assured that in no distant time they will savour the sweetness of victory, while celebration will resound on their respective dwelling and sorrows and sighing shall take a permanent flight to the abyss.
