The beheaded corpse of an unidentified woman was discovered in an uncompleted building at Ozoro community in the Isoko North Council Area of Delta State.
It was gathered that the lady was killed and beheaded by unknown assailants for suspected ritual purposes in Ozoro community. The killing of the woman is suspected to be a ritual murder as blood was reportedly drained from the corpse.
According to the Vanguard, the deceased was said to have been missing before her corpse was discovered. A source said she had left home on Friday and never returned, stating that her mobile phones were switched off as her phone was not connecting when calls were put across by relatives.
It was gathered that the killers severed her head from the body and abandoned it in an uncompleted building where detectives recovered it.
Prior to this time, a female student of the polytechnic, identified as Happiness, had been murdered in a similar manner with her vital organs removed.
Delta State Police spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe confirmed the incident on Tuesday while speaking to newsmen in Asaba.
Edafe said the matter was being investigated with a view to unmasking those behind the gruesome killing.
When contacted, Edafe said the police were doing everything to arrest the suspects.
In his words, “The body of a lady was found with her head chopped off and her blood, drained. The suspects went with her head and the blood”, the Vanguard quoted him as saying.
