As part of activities to commemorate the 2022 World Blood Donor day, the Rotary Club of Trans Amadi in collaboration with Armed Forces Blood Center has embarked on Road Show to create awareness on the importance of Voluntary Blood Donation.
The President of the Rotary Club of Trans Amadi, Chinwe Asanga in the road show tagged ‘Walk for Blood’, said Rotary involvement and support will help to ensure a wide impact for World Blood Donor Day 2022 and bring the world closer to 100 per cent voluntary non-remunerated blood donation.
“The World Blood Donor Day theme for the year 2022 is ‘Donating blood is an act of solidarity’. The Rotary Club of Trans Amadi is joining the effort and save lives, in order to draw attention to the roles that voluntary blood donations play in saving lives and enhancing solidarity within communities”, she said.
On his part, the past Assistant Governor of Rotary international District 9141, Charles Emamoke said the activities lined up by the Rotary Club of Trans Amadi to mark the day includes a lecture by Vice Chancellor of federal University Otuoke, Bayelsa State, Professor Teddy Charles Adias, on the topic, “Donating Blood, an Act of Solidarity”, at the St Jude’s Military Protestant Church Hall, GRA PH.

Rotarian PAG Charles Emamoke said other activities include, Blood Donor drive and presentation of awards to supporters and groups.
Recall that Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Passport, District 9141 and the Rotary E-Club Hamburg-Connect District 1890 had empowered two hundred and fifty-three women and youths in Obuama, Harry’s Town in Degema Local Government Area, with various skills to increase to their access to stable life.
The Rotary International District 9141 Governor, Andy Uwejeyan while Commissioning the facility, commended the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Passport and the Rotary E-Club Hamburg District 1890 for completing the project and improving the welfare of the community dwellers.
