Nnamdi Kanu, the arrested leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, has been prevented from signing a consular aid form by the United Kingdom by the Department of State Services.
Aloy Ejimakor, one of the IPOB leader’s lawyers, said this in a statement on Monday after visiting Kanu in DSS custody today.
The IPOB leader is a dual citizen of Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
Kanu, who was just re-arrested after being detained abroad, is facing terrorism-related accusations. Before going to the United Kingdom, he had jumped bail. However, the IPOB leader was recently re-arrested and returned to Nigeria in questionable circumstances. Since then, he has been detained by the Department of State Services.
