Kano State Governor, Dr. Umar Ganduje has fired his media aide, Mr. Yankasai Dawisu.
Dawisu’s sack is coming on the heels of his call on President Muhammadu Buhari to resign over his alleged inability to curb the menace of banditry in the north east and the north west.

Dawisu took to his Twitter handle to vent his frustration. His tweet reads :
Clearly, we as APC government, at all levels, have failed Nigerians in the number 1 duty we were elected to do which is to secure lives & properties. Not a single day goes by without some insecurity in this land. This is a shame! Deal with terrorists decisively or resign.
Each time another tragedy happens, we lament, condemn, create a hashtag, the govt pretends to do something, no concrete steps to prevent re-occurrence, and then we repeat the process. To what end? Where are those saddled with the responsibility?
Just last week, it was #freekagaraboys, today we have a new hashtag, #RescueJangebeGirls; who knows tomorrow what hashtag we will come up with? Perhaps one for ourselves when we get caught up in one of these daring attacks. This is sad & heartbreaking; I feel helpless & hopeless.
Dawisu lamented the president’s inability to tackle the problem of insecurity as well as the decaying security structure in the country which has left loopholes for constant killings and kidnappings, was reported to have gone missing on February 25, 2021.
It is however alleged that he was arrested by the DSS.
The DSS after denying the allegation of arresting the former media aide has remained mum about his whereabouts.
The Nation online reports that the last blow came a few hours later when Dawisu’s principal, Gov. Ganduje announced the termination of his appointment.
