Former controversial pension boss, Abdulrasheed Maina who was arrested after his attempted escape to Niger December 3, 2020, has yet been refused bail in court.
Maina who has been on trial over alleged money laundering of over N2 Billion, reportedly slumped in a court proceeding.
Maina who appealed to be granted bail through his lawyer was denied bail by the presiding judge, Justice Abang.
Justice Abang who said Maina’s request to be granted bail was not on sufficient grounds, hinging on the fact that his request for a health related relief was not substantial enough.
In his statement, he said the medical report brought from the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital showed that Maina was not under any medical emergency.
Maina who reported that his deteriorating health may lead to an amputation of his leg.
Justice Abang ruled that Maina didn’t deserve bail.
