The Niger State Government says it has secured the release of the abducted passengers of the State Transport Authority (NSTA) bus.
This was contained in a statement issued on Sunday in Minna by the Chief Press Secretary to Gov. Abubakar Sani-Bello, Mrs. Mary Noel-Berje.
This was further confirmed on Sunday via the official Twitter account of Governor Sani Bello, reports the Vanguard.
The tweet reads:
“Breaking News: The Niger State Government has succeeded in securing the release of all abducted #RescueNSTAPassengers.”
No fewer than 18 passengers on the NSTA bus were on Feb. 14 abducted by bandits in Kundu village near Zungeru in the Yakila District of Rafi Local Government Area of the state.
According to the NAN, the passengers were said to be heading to Minna from Kotangora when the incident happened.
