The Vice Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Doyin Okupe, has announced his withdrawal as the vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party.
Doyin Okupe, in his tweet, disclosed that his party would announce the new running mate to the presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
According to Okupe, he submitted his withdrawal letter from the position of the vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, this afternoon.

Early feelers on the development suggest that the Labour Party had named Doyin Okupe as its interim vice presidential candidate in order to beat the deadline given by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, just like the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, did.
