President Buhari has postponed his trip to London, the United Kingdom, for a medical follow-up visit.
But according to a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the trip has been pushed forward.
Though a reason for the postponement was not given, Mr Adesina said a new date will be announced in due course.
Speculation has it that the president postponed his trip due to the rising security challenges bedevilling the country.
It is also possible that the pockets of crises in the ruling All Progressive Congress, that needs urgent attention in view of the forthcoming congress, preparing the party for the 2023 presidential election, may have been responsible.
Knowing fully well that his plans to install his successor should not be faulted for any reason, as there are countless bigwigs of the party lobbying seriously, trying to dot all the I’s and cross all the T’s.
Speculations are also making the rounds that the west is seriously plotting hard, and people are more concerned about the recent hook up between the president and the Jagaban A.K.A Bola Tinibu.
Some persons are even speculating that since the APC is zoning the presidency ticket to the south-south, it might most likely fall on the shoulders of the Minister for State Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva.
Probably it might also fall on the transport Minister, Rotimi Amaechi, or the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, or the Deputy Senate President, Senator Omo-Agege.
Some persons are also looking at the angle of the former president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, saying that, the North has an agenda to give it to the south-south, in the person of Goodluck, so that he can complete the second tenure he lost to Buhari and handover back to the North.
These and many other speculations on the ground, but the reason for the postponement of the President’s trip will be communicated soon.
