Cadbury Nigeria Plc has awarded cash prizes of N6 million to the top three winning schools in the third edition of its Bournvita Bourn Factor School Talent Competition.
Winners of the competition, which attracted schools from across the country, were announced recently at a press conference held at the company’s headquarters in Lagos. Bethel Nursery and Primary School from Osun State received the grand prize of N3,000,000.
Excellence Nursery and Primary School, Ondo State, took second place with a prize of N2,000,000, while Infinity International School, Ogun State, took third place with a prize of N1,000,000.
Mrs Oyeyimika Adeboye, managing director of Cadbury West Africa, reiterated the company’s values and commitment to delighting consumers with its brands at the award presentation ceremony.
“The Bourn Factor platform was created to enable children from different schools to showcase their talents, compete and win prizes for their schools while raising money towards a social cause of their choice,” she said.
“We launched the first edition in 2019, with 183 schools entering the competition. Last year, 319 schools participated in the competition, resulting in the collection of over 4 million jars and product wrappers; with 54 of the participating schools exceeding their targets. This shows how much these schools believe in us and the Bourn Factor Competition. Most importantly, it reminds us of how much more we need to do to impact lives”.
Mrs Adeboye went on to say that Cadbury Bournvita had previously worked with Bourn Factor Talent Hunt Competition winners to renovate their schools, set up ICT facilities, build playing fields, and provide boreholes.
Tolulope Olaoye, category lead, Cocoa Beverages, Cadbury West Africa, emphasized the importance of the winners assisting children from less fortunate homes, saying, “One thing we try to do with the Bourn Factor Competition is to encourage the winning schools to nominate an orphanage home where our products will be donated to. This ensures that less fortunate children are included in our initiative to give back to society”.
“At Cadbury, we are dedicated to providing families with high quality, a delicious cocoa beverage that provides the highest level of nutrition, with 17 essential vitamins and minerals,” he started Cadbury Bournvita’s commitment to providing everyday nourishment, essential vitamins and minerals.
The Bourn Factor Talent Hunt Competition also promotes children’s mental health by showcasing their talents. We desire to work with families across Nigeria to help their children succeed in life.
Cadbury Nigeria has invested in the physical and mental well-being of Nigerians through Bournvita, spearheading initiatives aimed at the educational development of children. Initiatives like the Bournvita School Programme, Bournvita Tech BootCamp, and Bourn Factor Talent Competition continue to impact the lives of young children across the country by harnessing their passions and talents and providing them with the Strength to Dream.
