Bayelsa United will on Sunday take on Guinean side, As Ashanti Golden Boys in CAF Confederation Cup first leg preliminary round tie at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa.
The coach Diepreye Teibowei led side will be looking forward to announcing their return to continental foodball by winning the one leg fixture which was made so by CAF following the coup d’etat in Guinea that saw President Alpha Conde dethroned.
United will be banking on the attacking prowess of Emo James, Victory Beniangba and Okardi Inikurogha to do the needed damage to Guinée Championnat National.
Coach Teibowei believes that with the good shape and form his boys have going into the game, securing passage to the next round is realizable.
So far, United who are the 2021 Aiteo Cup champions have not lost a game at home for three years despite playing in the Nigeria National League (NNL), a 100% home record.

Ahead of the CAF game, the Prosperity Boys as Bayelsa United is also known, whitewashed Sunsel Fc of Agbor 4-1 in a preparatory encounter with goals from Okardi Inikurogha, Favour Martins, Gabriel Biriduba and Wisdom Magbisa.
Match reports indicated that As Ashanti Golden Boys scored 24 and conceded 24 goals in 26 matches in the Guinée Championnat National while on the other hand Bayelsa United trio of Emo James, Victory Beniangba and Okardi Inikurogha gave the Yenagoa based side a total of 29 goals in the season.
Meanwhile fans of United are looking forward to the game on Sunday and has promised to storm the stadium to cheer them to victory.
Emmanuel Aduke, a fan of the club said he can’t wait for encounter and urged the team to go all out, score goals and make the state and country proud.
