The players, who were in high spirit before their departure, will be facing an uphill task against a dominant Tunisian force with very experienced players and only a win will guarantee their future in the ongoing CAF competition.

Last Sunday, Bayelsa United at the Samson Siasia Stadium defeated the Tunisians by a lone goal aftet finding it difficult on several occasions to break the defence line of the North Africans.

Hardworking forward, Victory Beniangba scored the fascinating lone goal on 56 minutes after a smart move inside the box, pulling through the Tunisian back line which left the defenders helpless.

Beniangba had mesmerized Nour Zamen Zamouri and Alaa Ghram, making them run helter-skelter as he waltzed past the duo to beat CS Sfaxien goal tender, Gaaloul Medhedi who was kept busy in the first half by Benard Okorowanta and Okardi Inikurogha.

The visitors, who were better in the first fifteen minutes in the first half almost took the lead but Bayelsa United goalkeeper John Shaibu saved Firas Chiwat’s close range shot.

In a post match interview, Technical Adviser of Bayelsa United, Diepreye Teibowei said he expected a big win against CS Sfaxien, but was pleased with the outcome nonetheless.

United’s captain Benard Okorowanta expressed confidence that the Prosperity Boys would progress to the next round despite the slim victory, adding that they are not new to the continent having reached the semi finals of the Champions League and the CAF Confederations Cup.
