The current UEFA Champions League winner Chelsea FC hope they could sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland before the next season.
Timo Werner was signed from RB Leipzig in a deal worth 50 million pounds last summer as the Blues top striker but has performed below expectation this season with scoring just 12 goals for the club.
As a result of the above poor performance, the Head Coach of Chelsea Thomas Tuchel is seriously in search for a top striker in front to add to the Champions League winning team as he looks forward to winning the Premier League next season.
With Olivier Giroud who could possibly exit the club soonest with offer from AC Milan keenly interested in the Frenchman while Tammy Abraham in another development could also exit Stamford Bridge with interest from West Ham, Aston Villa and Newcastle, the need for a top striker begins for Chelsea.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich who have been highly impressed with the club performances after winning the second Champions League trophy after nine years is willing to provide about 150 million pounds to land the young and vibrant 20 years Norwegian despite Borussia Dortmund demanding for same amount with a release clause of 68 million pounds to scare away other competitors.
The Borussia Dortmund forward has been a top notch striker among other players after scoring about 40 goals in 43 appearances for the club in the just concluded season thereby attracting attentions from different top European clubs around the world.
Other clubs such as Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Manchester City, PSG have all indicated interest in Erling Haaland and are also willing to spend up to 100m Pounds to land the striker.
If Chelsea successfully signs Erling Haaland, report has it that in the next four to five years he will be earning 30million pounds per year which is an equivalent of 500,000 pounds weekly.
Other strikers on Chelsea’s top list are Inter Milan forward Romelu Lukaku and Bayern Munich Robert Lewandowski.
