Popular Nigerian secular singer, Chidinma Ekile, has changed her name and identity, claiming to have rededicated her life to Christ.
The singer and songwriter, who turned 30 on May 3, 2021, said she has gone back to her first love as a gospel singer.
Belinspired.blogspot.com show reported that the singer deleted all old posts from her Instagram page and has now been signed by a gospel recording label, Eazee Concept.
It was also gathered that the beautiful singer has also released a new single titled “Jehovah Overdo”.
Chidinma declared boldly on her Instagram page that she is a crusader of the gospel of Christ.
“I am a crusader of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Minister Chidinma Ekile”, she said.
Gospel singers including Mercy Chiwo, GUC, Chioma Jesus and Judikay, among others, were present to celebrate with her.
Chidinma Ekile rose to fame in 2010 after winning the Project Fame West Africa while she was 19 years
Chidinma became a West African sensation with the single, ‘Kedike.’
Other singles such as ‘Emi Ni Baller,’ won Best Video at the 2014 Headies.
She was also reported to have entered a relationship with fellow singer, Flavour N’abania which they both denied thereafter.
The last song “Fallen in Love” released in 2017 by her brought her so much fame as it shook the Nigerian airwaves with over 77 million YouTube views.
However, some persons on social media are speculating that her transition could be a publicity stunt, while others have commended the new step she has taken.
