Chief Magistrate, Obiageri Onugbum granted him bail following an application by the defense lawyer to amend the charges.
Chief Magistrate Onugbum granted the suspect bail on the tone of seven hundred and fifty thousand naira with two shorties with two passport photographs of which one must be his biological mother and another blood relative.
The Chief Magistrate also ordered that the address of the shorties must be verified by the court while the suspect must deposit his passport photograph before she adjourned the case to the 30th of July to enable the defendant to take a plea on the amended charge.
“The court clerk should ensure that the address of the suspect, the address of the shorties must correspond with the testimonies given. The address must also be verified with the court while the suspect must deposit his passport photograph.”
Our correspondent reports that Chief Magistrate Obiageri Onugbum had earlier ordered the females victims to appear in court to prove their cases but none were present during the proceedings.
The defendant was arraigned on fifteen counts charges bordering on rape, administering of illicit drug and stealing among others.
Further investigation from our correspondent revealed that Favour Ibama, father of four children was arrested on the 17th of November, 2020 and later handed over to Elekahia Police station following report of rape, drug, and sexual abuse of six ladies before the case was transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department.
A source very close to the suspect also told our reporter that Favour Ibama’s father is also involved in child trafficking which has landed him into many police cases, adding that despite the illegal actions he does not want to change for better.
